NAPL Source Treatment Initiative
The AFCEE/TDE Source Zone Initiative, begun in 2000, is intended to deploy any and all available techniques to provide quantitative tools to:
- Better define the nature and extent of source zones;
- Develop source mass removal goals that will result in significant risk reduction and time to cleanup;
- Develop field deployable methods to measure source treatment efficiency and effectiveness in the field;
- Test and refine the above techniques at real world sites;
- Compile case studies where source treatment has been effective
