The Army, Navy and Air Force all face the same federal requirements, and must approach them in similar fashions. It is this reason that the Tri-Services have agreed to collaborate on a methodology to streamline reporting requirements, enable enterprise acquisition and address sustainability from a more holistic installation perspective. The Tri-Service Collaborative Group (TSCG) is currently working with the assistance of Department of Energy and US Green Building Council, to identify the aspects of installation sustainability, which we have termed 'Sustainable Communities'. Sustainable Communities is rooted in Environmental Management System (EMS) and Asset Management principles, and promotes continuous improvement on the installation.
