Systematic Project Planning
Comprehensive, up-front planning is essential to effectively complete any environmental project. Proper planning will assure that any data collected will lead to defensible decisions. Systematic project planning includes a very specific approach for environmental project planning that is defined in the UFP for Implementing Environmental Quality Systems.
Systematic planning has been implemented officially throughout the DoD and benefits projects by:
- Encouraging comprehensive planning that includes input from all stakeholders
- Establishing realistic cost and schedule constraints
- Communicating a common understanding of every element, step, and stage of the program
- Identifying and addressing concerns of all stakeholders, including suppliers and subcontractors
- Fitting the remedy, and any innovative technologies, to the site requirements
AFCEE/TDV Chemistry can assist Air Force project managers understand, evaluate, and quality assure all the required elements of a systematic planning process.
