The design awards program recognizes and encourages design excellence in Air Force. The Air Force Design Awards recognizes design excellence in Air Force planning, landscaping, architecture, engineering, interior design, and military family housing design. The Design and Construction Directorate, HQ AFCEE, make the call for nominations. These awards, through the incorporation of sustainable development concepts, recognize a number of design features that address environmental quality concerns. The three Air Force Design Award categories are below.
The Air Force Design Excellence Awards: These awards recognize one Air Force civilian and one Air Force military member who have demonstrated an exemplary commitment to the achievement of excellence in Air Force facilities design.
The Air Force Civilian Project Manager of the Year Award: This award recognizes Army, Navy or Host Nation civilian Project Managers for exemplary professional management of design or construction of Air Force Military Construction Program (MCP) or Host Nation funded projects.
The Air Force District, Division, or Host Nation Agent of the Year Award: This award recognizes the Army, Navy, or Host Nation agency that provide the most professional management of the design and construction of Air Force projects funded by MCP or Host Nations. Categories for both the Project Managers and the Agencies awards include Design Agent, Construction Agent and Design through Construction Agent.
