| Military organizations join for Earth Day celebration |
Since its formation as an independent service, the Air Force has a history of environmental protection and remediation.
In recent years, the Air Force has increased its emphasis on protecting its natural resources by promoting and mandating emissions reductions, sustainable design and development, green remediation techniques, and broad-ranging pollution prevention.
Earth Day provides an opportunity to energize our efforts - both at work and at home - and re-commit to being responsible stewards of our natural resources because it is the right thing to do for all of us and our families today and for future generations tomorrow.
